![]() ![]() In our Cleaning Lab tests, we saw great cleaning performance on our very dirty loads. LG appliances, like its washing machines, clothes dryers and gas ranges, are all stars in Good Housekeeping Institute tests, and this dishwasher certainly follows in their footsteps. What we don't understand is why the stainless steel finish on a dishwasher model we tested wasn't fingerprint-resistant. Other standout features include an extra-deep third rack to hold small bowls, lids and wide utensils like whisks, a red light that shines on the floor to let you know the appliance is running (trust us, you won’t hear it) and a little compartment on the middle rack to catch detergent tablets as they are dispensed for better dissolving. In our tests, plastics dried with this option were noticeably drier than those dried without it.Īnd like all Bosch dishwashers we’ve tested, it cleans well, accommodates big loads and is very quiet. This option adds only 30 minutes to the wash cycle but it's still energy efficient. A small heating element refreshes the minerals so they are ready for the next load and never need replacing. It uses an innovative system of minerals in a special sealed CrystalDry chamber that transforms the moist air in the dishwasher at the end of the cycle into dry heat that’s pumped back into the dishwasher for better drying. Many dishwashers leave plastics wet - which means you have to hand dry them before putting them away - but not the Bosch. If plastic storage containers, water bottles and cups make up a big part of your load, this Bosch dishwasher is the answer to your drying needs. But none of those things affect its great cleaning abilities. At first glance, it could pass for a pricier model, but part of what keeps it so reasonably priced is its lack of a top-level flatware tray and no Wi-Fi capabilities. Nice perks at this price include a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel front, cushioned stemware holders, adjustable water pressure for the type and soil of the load, an NSF-certified sanitize option and a light beam that projects on the floor to let you know when the cycle's complete. Some brands keep prices down by switching to plastic tubs, but not Frigidaire. This dishwasher offers you the option to wash half loads in the upper rack for greater energy savings when you don't have a full load. It includes a "favorite cycle" that, once programmed, selects your preferred options with one touch. Similar to models we've previously tested, this Gallery dishwasher has a sleek hidden control panel that's very clear and easy to use. And with a 4.3-star average rating on Lowe's from almost 3,000 reviewers, consumers seem to agree. In our Cleaning Lab tests, we've found Frigidaire dishwashers to be standouts for their cleaning performance and the high-end extras they include at a very reasonable price. Finally, Miele's app was easy to use and program. And they come equipped with a variety of energy-efficient features, like EcoStart, which allows you to program the dishwasher to run when utility rates are lowest, and a heat exchanger that captures heat already in the dishwasher and transfers it to the incoming water, so it isn't wasted. While it is one of our most expensive picks, we do believe Miele dishwashers offer a lot for your money. When we used it in combination with Miele's own detergent tablet, it blasted through the baked-on, burned-on deposits on our casseroles and cookware with ease. It cleaned and dried a very heavily-soiled load in just 58 minutes. Miele's version of a speed cycle is its QuickIntenseWash, and in our testing it was outstanding. We like how the cutlery tray slides from side to side to make room for tall stemware in the rack below - a helpful feature we first saw in an older model we previously tested in the Cleaning Lab. The top 3D cutlery tray keeps flatware from nesting for better cleaning and holds small bowls, utensils and ramekins too. This dishwasher is very easy to load with its adjustable racks and shelves, fold-down tines and padded stemware grips. If you prefer to add your own detergent to each load, you can do that instead. It dispenses the correct amount of powder detergent for the cycle you've selected based on the soil level of your load and lasts for up to 20 washes. Unique to Miele is its AutoDos system that works with Miele’s PowerDisk. In our tests, we found it lives up to Miele's reputation when it comes to cleaning and is loaded with features that make it easy to use, both of which also helped it earn our Good Housekeeping Seal. Miele is well known for its well-designed, great cleaning appliances and this dishwasher with its hidden top controls is no exception. ![]()
